Description:

The Center was created in 2001 by a group of former scholars of the University of Florence who were and are making historical research on the Cold War. Recently the Center has extended its interest to Global History. The Center has been publishing a number of books (about 20) and has now established an editorial agreement with Mondadori Education, one of the more important publishing houses in Italy. The Center has organized three international meetings on different moments of the Cold War. It has also been working (via the group of Roma3) to the nuclear problem, in close cooperation with the Wilson Center. Presently the Departments which participate in the Center are seven (Florence, Roma3, Milan, Venice, Perugia, Genoa, Bologna).

Cold War Interests:

Our more important fields of work have been based on the need to connect, via international conferences, with the major international institutions working on Cold War crises. At present we are involved in two research fields. The first is entitled "New Subjects of the International system"; the second deals with the financial and monetary problems as an aspect of international relation in the last decades.
